Learning from Rudolph

I love this time of year! I love the Christmas Music, the yummy treats, and the wonderful Christmas Spirit! One of the most favored Christmas songs is "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer".

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw it, you would even say it glows.
All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names, they never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games.
Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say
Rudolph, with your nose so bright won't you guide my sleigh tonight?
Then how the reindeer loved him, and they shouted out with glee-
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, you'll go down in history!
And he did :)

As I listened to this I wondered, Why did Rudolph have to do something great for the reindeer to like him? Then I thought about:
1) Why are we, as humans, so judgmental of others just because they look different than us? Why can't we look beyond physical appearances and see who people really are on the inside? In John it says:
“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment” (John 7:24).
How can we be less judgmental? The only way is to love with the pure, unconditional love of Christ. Speaking of Christ's love...

2) Christ loves us with an unconditional love that never fails. No matter what we look like, or how we act, he will always love us no matter what. We can cling and hold to his love in all our trails. Jesus and our Heavenly Father are the 2 people that will always be there, every second of the day, every day of the year. We can count on them.

I hope that we can all begin to love with a more perfect Christ like love as we begin to truly embrace the Christmas spirit during this wonderful time of year.

Have a great night!
